Compatible ethernet and modem cards

Hello

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what would be a good 10/100 ethernet
card (pcmcia)
and a global modem (pcmcia) to purchase that will work under red hat linux
7.1 within
an IBM thinkpad.

Basically I am after something that works easily without having to patch
kernels etc.

Any help would be appreciated
