There is a "Post It"(TM) type web system that uses frames to
achieve something similar (and I remember from the dim dark 
ages a 3M program that did something similar for Win 3.1
platforms).

I have my best ideas there.  As I lamented to someone offlist,
my SO won't allow me to run Cat 5 to that room  :-(  But my
laptop does have an IR port ... :-)
