Re: MS Curriculum at schools and TAFEs ...
Hi Michael,
Sorry, don't have access to 3 <18 boys, the guys at my place are both
24, non-computer nerds & don't have any difficulty printing, logon,
Web-surfing either.
One of the guys, *has* to use the OS/2 box because his own, (networked),
Windoze box doesn't do Internet Banking using Opera & JVM 1.3.
They all whinge about the lack of Bleeding-edge multimedia support on
the OS/2 boxes, like RealPlayer 8, Flash 5, but all the important stuff
works:- network printing, Web-Surfing, Reading Uni Lecture notes in PDF,
scanning, faxing, Internet Banking.
I might make a RIPLed Win98 box just for playing games...
Oh, the OS/2 box is a mere P100/64MB/1GB SCSI IBM 310 Server with a fax
server & HP 4p SCSI scanner hanging off it. Tonight I'll install the
OS/2 port of CDRECORD/2 onto it.
Maybe I'll upgrade to EcomStation, (OS/2 4.5), with the journalling file
system...
