Ummmmmm.....

I thought the whole point of PCI was to avoid these questions. The
corollary to this is, it's not easy. How much do you know about the
device? Are you able to read the BIOS output on bootup (please don't
take this as an insult - my lilo wipes it totally which is
extraordinarily annoying)?
