Samba pdc + 2k workstations
Im sorry if this was covered at any time previously, but i searched the
archieves and found none to contain any windows 2000, but all w9x info.
Ive been reading up and i was wondering if someone could clarify something
for me, Samba can have 2k workstations login to it (via backward
compatability), but cant act as a w2k pdc.
Thats all i want, is a login/script/file server with pols and what not, as
nt4, i have no need for the 2k pdc services at this time.
Also wondering if anyone can point me to a good reading recource for this
setup. Anything like that would be greatly appriciated.
I found mentioned in my reading samba-tng, the site has little to explain
itself, documentation wise. Im using the samba Version 2.0.6 on RedHat 6.2,
hostname is gateway.
Ive tried following the information on this site:
http://www.skippy.net/linux/smb-howto.html
But i get error when i try to set my domain to 'home' which is what smb is
set to.
ERROR:
The following error occurred validating the name 'Home'
The specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks
Adam Dixon
