As of yet, I have not had the opportunity to play with a wireless card
in a desktop Linux system - it's mostly been in P-to-P wireless gear.
However, I have seen that home office type units like the Apple AirPort
allow you to require that the wireless network name that a client
presents be correct to allow access.
Are there options for the Linux drivers to do a similar thing with the
wireless network name? Okay, it's security through obscurity, I know....
Perhaps you should set up FreeS/WAN on your main wireless router, so
that you can authenticate all the hosts that want packets via the
wireless network?
Cheers,
