Adding disks - controller info needed
I've got a Samba server - on a 486 - to which I would like
to add a third (and maybe a fourth) HDD. The existing HDDs
are running off the primary IDE of a VL-Bus multi I/O card.
But after much fiddling with jumpers I have not been able to
get the secondary IDE working. I've also been unable to find
any documentation on the card's jumper settings in dogpile,
google, dejanews, or the major hardware sites.
It is possible that the secondary IDE is dead. My server was
acquired with a single (Win95) HDD installed.
The card was made by a mob called Dataworld who are no
longer in business. There's no FCC ID, but it does have
"ADD2 MKIII" stencilled on it, and an Edge warranty sticker
dated 94/95.
Does anyone have documentation for this thing, or a
specimen with both IDEs running?
The server doesn't have a free slot for another HDD
controller card.
TIA
