DDS2 and TAR
Hi all
I am testing a second hand DDS2 DAT drive in my HR7.0 server and found that
all the tapes that came with the drive (source unknown) will only backup
2.7gig every time with the following message
Total bytes written: 2876098560 (2.7GB, 600kB/s)
tar: /dev/st0: Cannot write: No space left on device
apart from this they appear to work quite well
On trying a brand new tape I found I could backup 4 gig quite easily.
Therefore it would appear the formatting on the tape is wrong. Is there a
way to reformat the tape and regain the extra capacity?
Steve Sloan
