ADSL Requirements
Greetings,
In order to use Internode's ADSL offering.. (other than having the
ADSL configured on the phone line) what is the configuration of the
network?
I have configured PPPoE for the telstra ADSL service, and it looks
like..
ADSL Phone line +-------+ Cat5 +----------------------+
-----------------| ADSL |-------------| Ethernet Card in PC |
from splitter | Modem | | running Debian/Linux |
+-------+ +----------------------+
Ethernet PPPoE
IP address in PPP interface.
How does this change with a fixed IP service?
ADSL Phone line +-------+ Cat5 +----------------------+
-----------------| ADSL |-------------| Ethernet Card in PC |
from splitter | Modem | | running Debian/Linux |
+-------+ +----------------------+
^ ^
| IP addess? |
`- here or here --'
I'm assuming that this service doesn't have any username or password
verification and is fixed to the phone line.
Is this correct?
