Excellent.
That means I narrow down my learning list to CVS, which has the big advantage
of being used by zillions of other people.
"No one other got fired for using something that zillions of other people
are using!"
I just hadn't thought of CVS as being the solution to my requirement
because in the olden days, Unix used to be developed with SCCS,
and that had pretty strict exclusive file locking.
And I assumed that CVS, being derived from RCS, which in turn was
not too different to SCCS, would have the same contraints.
I should have known that if the linux mob are using CVS all the time,
it must be able to cope with all kinds of asynchronous and
simultaneous editing of a chaotic kind.
Well, here we go....
man -t cvs | lpr
Cheers and thanks,
Alan Kennington.
