It depends if you hear a talk from a strictly technical person, or
someone involved in managing or marketing the product. For example,
Geoff Huston (Telstra) gives a lot of *excellent* technical talks at
conferences without needing to plug his employer at all.
It also depends on what you call a plug .. if you work at place X as an
expert in Y, it's going to be difficult to talk about Y without drawing
on experience, anecdotes and statistics gathered at X.
If invited, I'd be happy to talk/plug about the new iDSL product my
employer is launching soon :)
