I'm sorry I didn't read the fantastic/frustrating manuals (sufficiently).
After doing 5 or 6 OpenSSH installations over the top of various
existing installations, I just had no energy left.

Your solution works, of course.
And now I'll read the rest of the new OpenSSH documentation
(hopefully before it changes its name to something else).
I think my eyes were just sore from reading ALSA music software
manuals, etc. etc. etc.

Anyway, I'll get out of your way now...
