Routed I Think?

Hello Group. I am experiencing problems with routed. Well atlease I think it
is anyway. Ok when I go into netconf and change stuff like normal, then go
ok then activate changes it looks good. it comes back to Root@graphite/Root

Now Example I would be on icq and then it would disconnect. I would try and
ping something from either the linux box or my machine (windoz).

eg Ping mamma.com
Unknown Host mamma.com

Now when i look in the /var/log/messages it says

Feb 13 21:27:29 graphite network: Bringing up interface lo succeeded
Feb 13 21:27:30 graphite ifup: route: netmask doesn't match route address
Feb 13 21:27:30 graphite ifup: Usage: route [-nNvee] [-FC] [<AF>]
List
 kernel routing tables
Feb 13 21:27:30 graphite ifup: route [-v] [-FC] {add|del|flush} ...
Modi
fy routing table for AF.
Feb 13 21:27:30 graphite ifup:
Feb 13 21:27:30 graphite ifup: route {-h|--help} [<AF>]
Deta
iled usage syntax for specified AF.
Feb 13 21:27:30 graphite ifup:        route {-V|--version}
Disp
lay version/author and exit.
Feb 13 21:27:36 graphite kernel: Intel Pentium with F0 0F bug - workaround
enabled.

Now I cant find anything that would be the problem apart from during the
setup I setup the static ip on the linux machine

IP : 192.168.1.1
Netmask : 255.255.255.255
Nameserver : 127.0.0.1

When i put that subnet mask in my windows machine it said it was an invalid
subnetmask.

Also I found this in the log messages.

Feb 13 21:28:34 graphite linuxconf: Executing: /sbin/route add -net
255.255.255.255 netmask 255.255.255.255 dev eth0
Feb 13 21:28:34 graphite linuxconf: Killing /usr/sbin/dhcpd with signal
15 return 0
Feb 13 21:28:34 graphite linuxconf: Executing: /usr/sbin/dhcpd eth0 2>&1

Now is there a file i can edit to fix my routing problem if that is whats
the problem??

Help would be extreemly Appricated.

!!

Mick Collins
