Re: XFree86 Setup on Laptop - Help Required
Speaking of an NEC Versa,
Does anyone know what the `vga=` line would be to use under 2.4.0 to get console mode working in a higher than standard resolution? Under the default kernal with Mandrake 7.2 (2.2.18?) I had it running at (what the website said was) 1024x768x32bit colours. Since I've upgraded to 2.4.0 if I try to put that mode in, it just gives a blank screen. If I get it to scan for a mode, the screen flickers a few times, and then goes green, flickers a few more times, and then stays green and I have to reboot. Anyone know what mode I should be using?
The chipset is a Savage/MX/IX (rev 17), with 8Mb RAM.
TIA
Darryl
