Fair enough - I have been in correspondance with the ABC web admins prior to this, and they advised that copyright is an issue - hence not everything can be available in MP3 format.

That does not disqualify everything that the ABC produces from being publically available - such as news, specials, special interest programmes, etc - only programmes with copyright outside of the ABC need be protected.

Of course - if good ol Jonathan Sheer (who did not want to burden the Australian public with details of his unemployement prior to gracing the ABC with his presence) has his way - we will be paying for it anyhow.
