Re: LinuxSA, Organisers and incorporation

Since this discussion has continued, its probably worth mentioning here,

Incorporation doesn't mean membership fees.
Incorporation will incur a once off cost, but no on-going one.
Incorporation will mean we need a constitution, office bearers (president
secretary etc), and an AGM.
Incorporation will mean that LinuxSA exists outside a figment of our
combined imaginations.
Incorporation will mean that those who are seen to be the organisers can't
be held responsible or liable for any problems that occurr as a result of
holding meeting or events.
Incorporaion means we can be insured, but we don't have to be. this means
companies can insure individual events in our name.
Incorporation means we can make official representations and approaches to
busineses and governemnt for porlitical reasons, and to ask for
sponsorship for events.

I am not saying here we should or should not be incorporated, just some
considerations when thinking about it.
