I am on this plan too... there is a 300Mb d/l limit, after which I pay
19c/Mb. There's also a 4 hr connection time limit, so I pay another 25c or
whatever to dial again (if that's what I want). This 25c also goes into
telstra's coffers...
Besides, I think this is a recent "innovation" at telstra (I could be
wrong), and I wouldn't be surprised if it is a loss leader designed to
seduce people into Telstra's service, so they'll choose some other plan
eventually (although, the d/l limit means that they are not risking being
abused by leechers)... also note that this is on BigPond's "Essential"
network, with a different access number, modem pool, and no doubt, different
modem/user and modem/upstream b/w ratios... I'm sure they've worked it out
so that what myself and your friend pay does not risk a loss for them...
