It was an interesting place to look at and see the changes in telephony 
technology that occurred in approximately 10 years (1975..1985, let alone the 
past 100 years.

It was staffed by ex-PMG/Telecom/Telstra people who gave, from what I'm told, 
up their free time to maintain the equipment and act as guides.

Basically, again from what I've been told, it was a closed for financial 
reasons (ie Telstra didn't want to pay the ongoing accomondation costs) and the 
equipment is _currently_ in storage at {Telstra/NDC} Kidman Park.  

What happens to the stored equipment will be interesting.
