It's not perfect yet, that's for sure, but the woohoo was over the simple
success of getting anything to use the 3D card at all. This is a separate
voodoo 2 pci card with a separate 2d card in the box...
So far I haven't been able to do much with it. The only game running is
TuxKart and it is using the 3d... My frame rate before was like 1fps at best
and now it's quite smooth (not sure what framerate). Likewise the ssystem
test went from 10fps to 70fps... Not stunning, I know, but nothing special in
a 3d card (someone elses throwout)
The mesa gloss demo is about 75fps and the ipers demo maybe goes to 100fps
(hard to read) and about 60,000 polys/sec... So nothing much, but way over
any software rendering... I was only getting about 70 fps with gears in a
window before and about 10fps full screen... So it's better at least...
Note that it has various problems. Some demos won't run and the ssystem
'demo' has all the textures screwed up...
