Re: 3D - WooHoo
Tim,
That framerate does not sound quite right as with my PIII 450 in software
(MESA) mode I was getting 117 fps but with my GeForce card rendering with
GLX and 4.0.1 and DRI i think i am getting in the order of 1000 fps for
gears.
Hate to burst your bubble man.

After struggling with the Mesa that came with ManDuckCrap 7.2 for more
hours
than I care count I gave up. I'm damned if I could get even a simple gears
demo to use the voodoo 2...
So with a fair amount of screwing around I removed Mesa and Mesa-common
(which has some dependency probs, but what the heck, I'm getting pissed by
this stage) I downloaded the Mesa source and play with that for many more
hours - eventually putting in a few symlinks so that it could find the copy
of glide I had...
Finally compiled and geez I actually have a Mesa demo running on the voodoo
2
- well, gears at 75 fps at least.
With some slight success I think of sleeping now.
