if you can find them, Javastations are supposed to be able to do this. They
are a microsparc chip, set up to netboot. Linux will run on them, although I
haven't got it running on mine yet (haven't really tried, to tell the
truth). Otherwise, I would go for cheapass PCs. It's also possible to go for
proper Xterms (Adelaide Uni CS dept used to have a pantload of them, but
recently got rid of them -- low spec, B&W, but they could do the job).
