RE: Changing Video Card - how?
It may be a little more help to us if you tell us what type of video card
you are running. Often many video cards / chipsets often have problems with
X, (eg, sis chipsets) and sometimes various cards require special
configuration. Also with a stock redhat 7 installation I assume you a
running an XFree86 version 4.x.x. This version still does not have such an
extensive range of drivers available for it at this stage, so you may have
to step back to a 3.3.x version ...
Cheers,
Jeremy

Subject: Changing Video Card - how?
Hi Guys
I have just changed the video card in my Home PC and X has died.
XConfigurator runs OK and detects the new video card but fails to start X.
I suspect the wrong X server is loaded for the video card but last time I
installed a newer X server I could not get it recognised.
The system is RedHat 7.0 and currently it only runs in console mode. What
can I do to make X work again? I do not want to put the old video card
back in but will if I have to.
Thanks
