As a frequent cross-poster of new items, my policy is this:
Give the link, and some relevant excerpts for those who don't want
to click on any old link that someone wants to stick in
a mailing list.
Sometimes links disappear in a matter of weeks or months.
So it's a good idea to have the quotes from articles for the
sake of the archives.
(I've had people accessing links in e-mails I've posted years
ago, even in linuxSA via the archive. In fact, I get about
one query a week about just one e-mail I wrote about
ssh configuration. People just find such items in the linuxSA
archive via search engines.)
So to stay legal, and still let readers know why they should
bother to click on the link, I think it's best to give the
link, followed by explanation and excerpt[s].
Just a personal opinion....
Cheers,
Alan Kennington.
PS. Have you-all heard that MS is apparently
getting its DNS hosted on linux machines now?

Excerpt:

Following the debacle Microsoft has partially offloaded its DNS
servers to Akamai Technologies - which tests suggest is
running these servers on Linux.
