I would imagine that this means that the user that you are running Win4Lin
under has not got permission to the devices that you are trying to access.
What you need to do is give the user that you are running Win4Lin as
permission to the file in /dev/
ie:
chown myuser /dev/ttyS0
Gives the user "myuser" ownership of COM1
Just apply that same theory to other ports:
chown myuser /dev/lp0
