Thanks guys

The problem was active termination left on the drive when it was
already terminated at both ends.

Yes I know I am a dolt ;)

Hi,

I'd check SCSI termination (status on the card BIOS as well as any
settings on all SCSI divices). Next I'd check the timings in the card BIOS
to make sure the divice is not set too fast.

Maybe try obtaining and compiling your own Kernel as the next step.
