SCSI Help

Hello

I have just recently purchased a CD Writer Hp 9600 and connected it to my
red hat linux 7.0 system.

Everything works fine until the cdwriter is connected.

Once connected, the scsi bios detects the writer, linux detects and
configures the writer but
during the boot process displays the following message

SCSI: Aborting command due to timeout: pid 12247, SCSI0, channnel 0, id 0,
lun0
read(10) 00 00 78 10 1f 00 00 78 00
SCSI host 0 abort (pid 12247) timeout- resseting
SCSI bus being reset for host 0 channel 0

NOTE: SCSI device 0,0,0 is my harddisk

The machines then continues to boot.
A dumpy of /proc/scsi/scsi reveals an entry for all of my scsi devices.
cdrecord -scanbus reveals the cd writer

Upon using cdrecord to burn an image the process is aborted at a random
point.

Without the cd writer the SCSI error message does not result
My SCSI controller is an adaptec

Any help would be appreciated

Thankyou

Harvey
