Sure, you can do that, and my work has done it on occasion to have more
than one link to a single location. But there are only 10-odd channels
on the Lucent (and similar gear), and running on channels right next to
one another tends to decrease the SNR, so the number of antennas you can
put in the one spot is limited.

I'm not saying the Lucent gear is no good - it is good, and it works
well for some of the stuff my work has been doing, but it is limited,
and it's not going to be suitable for everything.
