Re: another dammed government site

Hi Steve,
1)
Try putting in the required details at:
http://boxoffice.soh.nsw.gov.au/soh/index.htm
They acknowledge that NS doesn't work with it & whilst they are
concerned about this, it hasn't been fixed.
The defect was reported the day the site went live, (12/09/00).
2)
Banks are generally indifferent to anyone running their Internet Banking
software on non-Windows clients.
3)
I suspect there is some legal grounds for getting these problems
rectified using:
a)
Equal Opportunity:
People who don't use IE/Windows are being discriminated against.
b)
Consumer Law:
If part of your dealings require you to use a 3rd party's services, it
is illegal to force people to use only 1 particular 3rd party. "Yes you
can freight the goods to us, but you can only use Ansett Freight", for
example.
c)
Consumer Law:
Banks are advertising "Internet Banking" however this is mis-leading if
it only runs on Windows it is *not* Internet Banking it is Windows
Banking. The Internet is Standards-based.

These are things to discuss with your MP.
