As far as I can tell, the "Hollywood Plan" is to implement
cryptography on the disk and graphics CPUs such that
the main CPU only ever sees random bits.

They can then distribute content over the Internet and
on Nintendo-style cartridge direct to video or disk.

Because the video and disk CPUs aren't as readily programmed
as the main CPU, this gives some level of copy protection.

My guess is that we are currently going through one of those
"defining moments" where two cultures clash.  The short-term
odds are against Linux, so yes, we'll have to work harder to
retain the rights that we thought we already had.
