It seems like Suse 6.4 must have glibc 2.0 or 2.1 and not the 2.2 required.
Either see if you can get an updated glibc, or recompile it from source. The
latter is probably less complicated in the long run. I've never tried to
compile from a source RPM, but from the --help it seems like you might be
able to do:

rpm --recompile xxx.src.rpm

This seems to do the trick for me.
