I do find it worrying, the number of people who rely on Netscape's
status bar transfer rate as a way of measuring modem performance.

Just for the record, my Netcom 33.6K just gave me a reading of 58.4K/s
(if you go by the Netscape bar.)

Of course this is over a compressed ssh link, and the page was full of
repeated text, but how was Netscape to know?
