Okay, IDRIVE (Http://www.idrive.com) has a similar thing for Winblows.
They use "Web Folders" to add a mapped drive letter that is your
internet disk. You get 50M of space and can share files with
friends/workmates/etc.

They have no official Linux support, but the web-based interface does
work with Netscape on Linux. The good thing about Idrive is the web
clipper service; you can select a web page/URL to clip into your drive.
If you are prepared to boot Winblows you can use their "FILO" tool to
download the entire contents of your Idrive... the beauty of this is
that it can also upload to make your local dir and remote dirs identical
(enter Win4Lin or VMWare).

We could pester the Idrive people (and whatever other free internet
disks there are) into providing Java-based solutions or native Linux
support. I know this doesn't answer the question at hand but it is one
of the possible solutions if you are prepared to use Windows/Win4Lin
once in a while.

Cheers all.

Adam
