Would a PC be suitable? That's what Jason is trying to find out.
Apparently PC hardware is reliable enough; it won't break down every week or
even every month. Apparently free operating systems are good enough.
What's not clear is whether free BGP software is good enough.
Cost doesn't seem to be a factor: Ciscos get cheaper every time you ask
about them! :-) Right now they seem to cost about the same as a *good* 2ru
pc. (Support costs are higher for a Cisco, but apparently they never ever
break down.)
