i dont have a /var/spool/messages i have a /var/log/messages , which =
entails nothing out of the ordinary at all. i even ran roaring penguin =
in debug mode, that came up dry as it all appeared to work. its got me =
stumped for a few days now.
ok ill run you through a few situations

Connect to FTP SERVER
Make dir -- OK
upload file 500bytes -- OK
upload file 900 bytes OK
upload file 1100 bytes it will upload 1100 bytes and instead of =
finishing the file and carrying on with it, it times out an sits there =
with the speed decreasing every second. as it would.
upload 32k file, -- uploads 16245bytes and hangs there and speed =
decreases to zero.

Using a message board.
Type large message,
clik send
times out.

the only thing i have come up with which is probably all normal and ok. =
