Is there a reason that there doesn't seem to be an open source virus
scanner? There seems to be an open source project for everything else :)

Is it perhaps that it requires a lot of work to keep the virus database up
to date with the latest virii? (sp?).

As for who will help, this depends on how many non-programmers you want. I
first learn to program anything last year when i started Uni. I've advanced
a lot since then, but I doubt I know enough to help.

I'll assume that you'll keep the list informed if you do plan/start
anything, but please keep me informed if not. Updating sendmail, learning
how to configure sendmail and include a virus scanner into it, is almost the
only thing I havn't done on my server now.
