It would be good to cover things like LRP (Linux Router Project) and
Freesco as well.
LRP is quite flexible for a number of situations. Freesco is more suited
to a home network, but the authors look like they are making it more
modular.
I still follow muLinux a bit for this sort of thing, but I think LRP is
better for firewalling/routing/bridging. Running a firewall in RAM off a
read-only floppy (or CDROM) could be considered added security for a
dedicated firewall.

LRP is based on the Debian model but uses 'lrp' packages. The 'Eiger'
variant of LRP seems to be a good choice (including 2.2.x of the kernel).
