RE: Some info on speed of connection
When telstra install it, they normally do a speed test where they ftp a 1
and or 10 meg file from and to a server on the ADSL network, they then
record the speed on the installation work sheet. They use a machine on the
"local" network so that other traffic doesnt degrade the the speed. You
could get your friend to try downloading a 10 meg file from somewhere like
http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au
I normally download 10 megs of a linux iso when I want to test my
connection.

Subject: Some info on speed of connection
A friend has ADSL installed 512/128 and would like to ensure he has that
rather than a lesser service. Can anyone tell me of a site or how to
determine his speed?
Thanks
Evan
