A number of ISP's use this to better support winmodems .. allow the main
dialup number to give a maximum-speed configuration by default, and
supply a second number (out of the ISDN indial range) that answers with
slower and more reliable modem settings. Much easier to get an end user
to change the dialup number than it is change their init strings over
the phone :)
Woe is me that the equipment used to achieve this thinks that all DoV
calls are modems regardless .. even though it has settings for data
ISDN, modem, audio and voice! The manufacturers are now getting about
20 requests per week to implement DoV..
