Gui vs Cli

In recent 'discussions' on this mailer about gui being 'better' (tm). I would
like to point those interested in the subject to two urls

The interface hall of shame.

http://www.iarchitect.com/mshame.htm

KDE gui standards

http://developer.kde.org/documentation/standards/kde/style/basics/badInterface.html

KDE is obviously one of the two 'majors' out there. Rather than promoting their
obvious self interest in gui. they are offering very mature arguments, why NOT
to do so.

At the end of the day though, after reading the articles, some of you will see
some immediate non-obvious benefits to where a dialog box 'fits in', where and
why it can be applied. I am in the same camp as kde, there is no place in a user
program for the cli, and I will then work backwards finding all the holes in my
argument.
