Backups (was about iso img)

Hi,

I am still having a terrible time trying to find a solution to my
problem, and am hoping that the network gurus can help me out. How do
you back up a complete Linux Server? I am stumped!!

I have installed RH6.2 on a workstation that is attached to a network
running Novell Netware 4. I can telnet (and access the web) to another
server on the (intra)network, but cannot telnet back - it can't see my
station.

I put this into the /etc/fstab file
LinuxServer:/ /mnt/LinuxServer nfs defaults 0 0

because I believe I should be able to access the LinuxServer this way
through normal commands.

Theoretically then, if I
	dd if=/dev/hda of=/mnt/LinuxServer/diskdump.file
this will give me a copy of my current fs workstation as a file on the
root directory of LinuxServer called diskdump.file. I then burn this to
CD

Now lets say (though it shouldn't) my workstation is trashed, by loading
from my boot disk then
	dd if=/mnt/cdrom/diskdump.file of=/dev/hda
this should restore my workstation to its previous state. Yes, No, Is my
logic wrong?????

What I put in the fstab file does not work! I really need this done by
Friday this week + I'm learning as I go. If the network gurus can help
<grovle> I'll really appreciate it. I think you can tell what I want to
do; just what am I doing wrong?
