I had been following the uCLinux and it had got to the interesting bits, then they
annouced pricing and my interest died.
Given the following:

uCsimm model number (uC68EZ328) $210.00 US
gardener" uCsimm host board kit $30.00 US
freight $20.00 US

So that's approximately $450 AUD with the current
exchange rate.
You can buy the following locally:

PCChips 4-in-1 motherboard
  (Modem, LAN, Video, Sound) $170
AMD K6-2/450 $130
Compact flash to IDE adapter $45
16MB compact flash $85
32MB SDRAM $80
Total $510

So as you can see you get a lot more back per buck if
you go for off the shelf PC product.

I'd really like to see a device like the uCsimm for $50-60 US
to make it useful and cost effective.
