I'm sorry we missed the meeting this time around... but speaking of
slides, Geoffery, do you have a link to slides from your talk about PHP
and Postgres?  

The reason I ask is I seem to recall your example demo having global
variables set in one place rather than within various functions - or do I
have a faulty memory?
