I believe that there's emacs for X Windows (which is the xemacs you get
with most dists), but Tom was certainly referring to XEmacs, which is a
proper X application. It has button bar things and mouse driven menu
things and other stuff. It also has very good syntax highlighting (same
as emacs) and supports the most number of languages I have come across
(programming / markup / text processing languages, not written / spoken
ones).
It really is quite nice.
