I can't help you with SendMail questions however if DNS records indicate
that your machine handles some domain's mail, then that machine will get
the mail. You just need to setup a MTA such as SendMail to listen for
incoming mail...

Hence you need to ensure that you have the domain and that there are
some MX records for your domain pointing to the correct IP address...MX
records are Mail Exchange Records and basically indicate which mail
servers mail should use to get to the final destination.
