Partitions
Greetings, Glen!
It appears we DO need that LUGSA session on partitions.
You said "put Swap near the middle of your drive".
Consider the standard-these-days 8.4G IDE drive:
hda1 /boot 100M
hda2 / extended 4G (lots of logical partitions)
hda3 swap 200M
hda4 /usr 4G
Seems a lot for /usr and too little for everything else.
How about this as an alternative?
hda1 /boot 100M
hda2 / extended 6G (lots of logical partitions)
hda3 swap 200M
hda4 /usr 2G
Swap wouldn't be anywhere near the middle, of course.
Regards,
Brian
