Send us the output of "file linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh".
[nickm@neptune quake]$ file linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh [enter]
?????
"file" will try to guess what sort of file it is, and therefore you'll
be able to figure out how to deal with it.
