[Way off topic] Sound samples
Hi folks,
I'm doing a Voice over IP rollout.
Part of this involves lots of presentations. Normally I
illustrate the sound quality by actually plugging in a
VoIP gateway into the network and making a call.
Unfortunately, I'm giving a presentation at a conference
and they have no Internet connection at the speaker's
podium (!).
Does anyone have enough sound engineering background to
suggest where to find well known 'standard' voice samples?
I could then encode these using various compression
schemes in software (to show the best possible result
with various codecs) and play the samples over the VoIP
network (to show real life). If I write the results
to a CD the venue is happy to play different tracks
on cue.
