Hi,

Kinda had a similar problem with a freebsd machine, it would die, traffic
wise but stay connected. Ended up beinga  problewm with primus and the
freebsd machine having problems with predictor1 compression. Turned it off
works fine now, all i can suggest is check your ppp logs and see if its
somthing similar.
