RE: COREL LINUX

I have been running it for a while now. It's based on Debian, running KDE.
So far, it's done everything I've thrown at it. The listserv has ***many***
problems listed with video hardware, partly because the initial install is
done in a graphical environment (to look pretty, I guess), and partly
because they whine way more than this group ever could.

I think that because of the ease of installation (with the right hardware),
it is drawing newbies by the boatload who haven't learned the lesson "If you
learned it, you earned it".

Overall, I am pleased with the release. I especially like Corel's Update,
which allows browsing the debain sites, and intelligent (there's a word you
don't often hear in the M$ lists) updating of packages.

I'd certainly recommend trying it. Perhaps if someone your LUG has the
bandwidthh to download the ISO image, they could distribute it there cheaper
than ordering it?

Any questions about CLOS, please ask. What I don't know about it (lots), I
want to learn.
