Typically no. You may find some backup software can though. You might be able
to mount the /dev directory on the DAT tape machine via NFS and have a link in
your /dev directory to point to the DAT driver on the first machine. I have no
idea if this works, but it sounds good,
I'm sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong.
